Teeny Tiny Optics is a Marin County, California based Children's Sunglass Wholesaler. May 2011 will mark our eighteenth birthday! Teeny Tiny Optics was started by mom and entrepreneur Alice Lando. Alice, who drew on her background as a women's accessories buyer, as well as her inspiration and love for her daughter, saw a clear void in the market with regards to eye protection for children. "People didn't believe in eye protection for infants and kids. A lot of lenses for children weren't 100-percent UV protective and I felt that was really important".
Teeny Tiny Optics offers eyewear in five size categories for infants through teenagers and sells to better department stores and children's specialty boutiques. The line for girls includes flowers and plaids and others bejeweled with rhinestones and crystals. For boys there are two-tone and wrap styles which include an army camouflage print, a Spider web print, and one with flames on the temples. The sunglasses have been featured in such magazines as Parenting Magazine, Earnshaw's, Travel & Leisure Family, US Weekly and Parents.
A one-woman show at first, where Alice handled everything from design and marketing to consumer education, Teeny Tiny Optics has enjoyed continual growth and success. Alice stresses "I believe that the success of the company is because we are so careful with customers and we respond personally to what their needs and questions are." "We also offer a product that is both stylish and essential."
